NBAA is excited to announce the program overview for the Overtime Challenge and Weekend Challenge programs. You’ll notice that we’ve increased your chances of qualifying for our championships. All wildcards will be drawn directly from their qualifying divisions. With our tremendous geographic growth, a Wildcard Fish off wasn’t practical this year. You’ll notice that with NBAA you still qualify directly for our National Championship – no jumping through regional hoops in hopes of going to the Big Show! And as always, our National Championship are free of charge to all qualifiers. We don’t make you pay to fish for your money!
The Overtime Challenge
The format of these popular circuits is based on a 3-4 hour tournament fished in 12 week schedules. Generally, these tournaments run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weeknights. This format has evolved to include tournament fished on weekday mornings, weekends – whenever angler’s schedules permit. Costs of these tournaments are generally $35.00 per team plus $5.00 big bass. Payback of based on one place for every 5 boats. Each tournament pays into the Classic fund and Super Big Bass challenge. The top 25% of the average field plus wildcards will qualify for the Overtime Challenge Championship.
Fishing the Championship is free of charge for qualifiers. Wildcards will be drawn from the individual divisions – one wildcard for every 10 boat average.
Weekend Challenge
Based on a traditional 8 hour tournament format, these tournaments run on weekends for a 5 tournament qualifying schedule. These are team events, with the cost generally being $115.00 per team, plus $10.00 big bass. Payback is based on 1 place for every 5 paid entries. Each tournament accumulates funds for the year end Championship and the Super Big Bass Challenge. The top 30% of the average field plus wildcards will qualify for the Weekend challenge Championship. Fishing the Championship is free of charge for qualifiers. Wildcards will be drawn from the individual divisions, based on one wildcard for every 10 boats in the average field. |
