Don't Be Fooled at the Ramp!

Some other circuits are claiming big payouts, but then charge you huge membership fees just to join their organizations – some as much as $60.00! For a 20 boat circuit with 40 members, that’s $2400.00 you pay up front just for the “privilege” of fishing with them. Compared to NBAA’s low $30.00 early membership (as low as $20.00 for a three year membership) that’s an extra $1400.00 in membership costs.

They claim to payback more at the ramp based on “full field” projections, but the reality is that a 20 boat circuit to start will average around 15-16 boats over the course of a season. The “higher payback” that they claim will never cover the extra cost members pay out in membership fees. A couple of top teams might benefit, but the overall group pays more.

The $2400.00 goes into their pocket up front, and then they still take out administrative fees on top of that and put only $1.50 into the Classic fund per boat. That’s half of what NBAA does. Over a 12 week schedule, that’s $360.00 less per division that they pack back, based on their projections. For 40 divisions, that’s over $14,000.00! Plus some circuits even charge for their classics. You have to pay to fish for your money.

In 2005, NBAA will payback over 100% overall in cash and prizes. We offer guaranteed purses like the $5000.00 First Place prize at our Blackjack Shootout and $2500.00 Big Bass Challenge. NBAA will guarantee two Skeeter/Yamaha boats, over $20,000.00 in cash and over $10,000 in prizes at our 2004 classic week this spring. This is in addition to the largest total ramp payouts of any circuit in our area. Plus we earmark funds for the Blackjack Shootout, Super Big Bass Challenge and more!

Some new “copycat” circuits are claiming huge “projected” payouts based on full field estimates and possible contingency payouts, but have never even run a single tournament. Experienced tournament anglers have seen these claims before and have seen circuits come and go. Don’t be fooled by big claims with no guarantees. You could pay $60.00 in membership and be the only boat to show up at the ramp.

NBAA will pay out more total money at the ramp, have more contingency awards available, have more sponsor support, and give away more prizes than any other circuit in our area.
