UPDATE - NBAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2005

Total Payout Could Top $100,000 in Cash and Prizes!

The NBAA National Championship for the 2005 season will be held May 4th, 5th, 6th, 2006 on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. The host site will once again be the Executive Inn in beautiful Paducah, Kentucky.

“We spent a lot of time talking with anglers, and the overwhelming majority wanted another shot at this world class fishery” said Jim Sprague, Executive Director for NBAA. “The community response has been great, and they really want the NBAA anglers to return in force. We’re working on a number of special sponsor incentives that will make this one of the largest team championships ever held in the nation. With membership and participation running ahead of last year, our projected payout could top $100,000 in cash and prizes. We will let our anglers know well in advance the exact payout once the season wraps up. As always, our classic event will be free for all qualifiers.”

We’re having great response to our three day Championship format, which will give anglers a chance to advance from either the Weekend Challenge Championship or the Overtime Challenge Championship to fish a third Ultimate Championship, all in an action packed three days. Here’s the tentative schedule of events:

• May 3rd registration day for both championships
• May 4th Weekend Challenge Championship
• May 5th Overtime Challenge Championship
• NEW! May 6th “Kentucky Lunker Shootout”
• May 6th Ultimate Challenge Championship/Lunker Shootout

All waters will be open to all anglers during the 3 days of competition with no off limits before or during the tournaments.  We will be launching from the same location as last year, The Kentucky Dam Marina. 

We will be taking the top 20 finishers in the Weekend Challenge Championship and the top 30 finishers in the Overtime Challenge Championship to compete in the Ultimate Challenge Championship on May 6th.
