In this weekend Northern Michigan Challenge held at Portage Lake just north of Manistee, big fish were biting. Not only were several limits caught but several big fish were brought in with those limits. Which included one bass over six pounds, one over five pounds and several more that weighed in over 4 pounds.

First Place honors went to the team of Jack Horning and Don Watts who caught 5 fish that tipped the scales at 20.45 pounds. This sack was anchored by a 5.40 largemouth. Don and Jack would like to thank Skeeter Boats, Yamaha Motors, Dual Pro Batteries, Solar Bat Sunglasses, Mega Strike, Tackle Rac, Bass Stopper Lures and Ultimate Lure Saver.

Second place and big bass honors went to the team of Ben Nielsen and Brad Lyons who weighed in 16.61 pounds with a true Monster Largemouth that weighed in at 6.22 pounds.
Rounding out the top 3 was the team of Jason O’Kranngley and Jack Perrin with 16.16 lbs.
