December 10-11, 2005 ICE FISHING WEEKEND AT BASS PRO SHOPS IN AUBURN HILLS

Pete LusisPack the family up for this one and head on over to Bass Pro Shops in Auburn hills, Michigan.

Pete Lusis from K&E Tackle will be on hand to help out and answer any questions you might have. Pete is a local expert in ice fishing and will be happy to assist you with what ever you may need.

There will be platforms over the trout/bluegill pond to help simulate an ice fishing adventure. So all you moms, dads and kids enter the ice fishing contest and if you're one of the top in your group, you can win prizes listed below.

They’ll have prizes and give aways from Clam Corp. Strikemaster Augers, Nature Vision/ Genz stix combos, Jiffy augers, Shapell Ice Shelters, Lake Country ice skimmers and Lindy Little Joe lures.

October 9, 2005 7th Annual Skeeter Owner’s Tournament

Elizabeth Park in Trenton, Michigan will be the site of the 7th annual Skeeter Owner’s Tournament. There will be a bonus drawing for a free Skeeter SX 190 W/Yamaha 150.

The entry fee for this event is $125.00 with top prize being $3000.00 based on a 100 boat field. There is even a big ugly contest worth $500.00, so you don’t even have to catch a bass and you can cash in at this special event. September 25 , 2005 Portage Lake Open

100% PAYBACK AT THIS SPECIAL EVENT!! The 2005 Blackjack Shootout isn’t the only reason to head north in late September. NBAA is proud to announce the 1st Annual Portage Lake Open. Hot on the heels of the Blackjack Shootout on September 24th, this special event will be held on September 25th on popular Portage Lake.

Hosted by directors Larry Hayes Sr. and Jr., this event will be run from safe light until 2:00 PM. Plan to drop down to this big fish lake to enjoy this fantastic fishery after the great tournament on Charlevoix. Five and Six pound bass aren’t uncommon, especially that time of year on Portage Lake. This will be a closed lake event, unless too many boats make this unfeasible. The entry will be $100, plus $10 big bass. more»

September 24 , 2005 Blackjack Shootout

eventNBAA is pleased to announce a partnership with the City of Charlevoix to host the inaugural Blackjack Shootout on September 24, 2005. Lake Charlevoix and connecting waters will be the site of one of the largest tournament events in the state, with a guaranteed first place prize of at least $5000.00.

Any NBAA member can qualify by simply fishing 10 Overtime Challenge events and 4 Weekend Challenge events – that’s just 14 tournaments! Teams fishing a total of 21 total NBAA tournaments, during the regular season automatically qualify to fish the event for free, as long as at least 4 of the events are Weekend Challenge events! Entry fee for those not qualifing to fish for free will be $60.00. Any team made up of one team member that fished 14 events and the other team member that fished 21 events the entry fee will be $30.00 for the team member who only fished 14 events. more»

Michigan Super Bass

MICHIGAN SUPER BASS JULY 9TH!

Don't Miss Your Chance at $10,000 First Place!

The top bass circuits in Michigan, BBT, Lake Drive Bass Tour, and NBAA have combined to present the first annual Michigan Super Bass - the largest event in team bass fishing in the state for 2005. The tournament will be held at Riverside Park on the Grand River near Allendale, Michigan. Based on 100 paid entries, the first place prize will be $10,000 to the winning team. The field will be limited to the first 150 paid entries. Early draw entries must be in by June 15th. Boat numbers after the June 15 early draw will be assigned as they arrive.

Entie fees for this big money tournament will be $250 plus $20 big bass. Entries should be mailed to;

Lake James Take Off - Fish Us First Qualifier!

Fish Us First!Hosted by the Corner Landing and the Southern Lower Michigan Division! Don Laughton will host this great event on May 14 during the peak of the hot spring bite on the Lake James chain of lakes in northern Indiana. This event is always a great start for the Michiana anglers and draws anglers from all surrounding states. Don runs a great event with a ton of extra prizes, and we expect a great turnout for this event the week we return from the Classic. As with all first tournaments in the northern region, this is a Fish Us First tournament and gives you a shot at MIS Race Tickets!

Ultimate Sport Show – Kentucky/Barkley seminar by Kim Stricker

Another in a series of seminars on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes will be offered on Saturday, March 19. The Ultimate Sport Show in Grand Rapids will host a seminar with bass professional Kim Stricker discussing spring time presentations for bass on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. Kim, best known for his great lake expertise, has fished numerous tournaments in Kentucky and will share his tips on presentations, patterns and lure selection.

Due to the over whelming success of the Joe Thomas Seminar in Novi, The Ultimate Sport Show will host seminars on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes at both the Lansing and Grand Rapids shows. Well know Michigan professional angler Jerry Goestenik will do a seminar on spring time patterns for Kentucky and Barkley Lakes on Saturday, March 12. The times will be posted at a later date.

NBAA has an informational booth with information on local divisions, new divisions and area sponsors. East side directors will be on hand most of the show to answer questions and take early memberships. Stop by and meet these directors and get signed up.

March 6, 2005 Twin Ponds open house, Stanton, MI

Twin Ponds Sport Shop in Stanton, Michigan will host an NBAA open house and seminar on Sunday, March 6. Directors Don Watts and Scott Dye are organizing the event and several other area directors will be on hand to highlight NBAA’s new programs, sponsors and promotions. Raffles will be held and members signing up will receive a sponsor pack. Don Watts will do a seminar on Jerk Bait techniques and patterns from area lakes. Marc Snyder will do a talk on Kentucky Lake and shallow water techniques. While you’re there, be sure to check out TWin Pond’s great selection of jerky, tackle and archery equipment. Randy VanDam and D & R Sports will host an NBAA open house on Saturday, February 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm. A panel of speakers is planned to talk about fishing Kentucky and Barkely Lakes. There will also be a gnereal NBAA member meeting where new programs, sponsors and promotions will be highlighted. Several Area directors will be on hand. Anglers signing up for 2005 memberships will receive a sponsor tackle pack and D & R will have some great member deals.
