Championship Week 2012 – Details!
The talk and chatter about Championship Week 2012 has already started. NBAA anglers are chomping at the bit to get back to the monster bass of Patoka Lake. As with any major championship there are tons of details and items that need to be lined up. Please keep reading for all of the exciting details of Championship Week 2012. Wednesday May 2, 2012 Registration – Registration will be located at the Jasper Inn in Jasper, Indiana (800-872-3176) starting at 1:00 pm. All teams MUST register for all events qualified.
Wednesday May 2, 2012 Registration Banquet/Rules – Banquet and rules meeting will immediately follow registration in the large conference center at the Jasper Inn. Banquet will start at approximately 5:00 pm, followed immediately by the rules meeting. Rules meeting is mandatory; at least one member from each team must be present, rules meeting to start at approximately 6:00 pm.
Thursday May 3, 2012 Black Challenge Championship – Boat check & launch for first flight will start at 5:00 am with takeoff starting at 7:00 am from the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Check in for first flight 3:00 pm at the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Boat check & launch for second flight will start at 6:00 am with takeoff starting at 7:30 am from the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Check in for second flight 3:30 pm at the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Only participants in the Black Challenge Championship will be allowed to launch from the Lick Fork Boat Launch the day of the tournament. Weigh in will be at Hoosier Hills Marina. You must return to the Lick Fork Boat Ramp and check in.
Friday May 4, 2012 Blue Challenge Championship - Boat check & launch for first flight will start at 5:00 am with takeoff starting at 7:00 am from the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Check in for first flight 3:00 pm at the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Boat check & launch for second flight will start at 6:00 am with takeoff starting at 7:30 am from the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Check in for second flight 3:30 pm at the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Only participants in the Blue Challenge Championship will be allowed to launch from the Lick Fork Boat Launch the day of the tournament. Weigh in will be at Hoosier Hills Marina. You must return to the Lick Fork Boat Ramp and check in.
Saturday May 5, 2012 Ultimate Challenge Championship – The top *50 finishers from each day, plus a wildcard will be invited to compete in the Ultimate challenge Championship. Boat check & launch for first flight will start at 5:00 am with takeoff starting at 7:00 am from the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Check in for first flight 3:00 pm at the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Boat check & launch for second flight will start at 6:00 am with takeoff starting at 7:30 am from the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Check in for second flight 3:30 pm at the Lick Fork Boat Launch. Only participants in the Ultimate Challenge Championship and Lunker Shootout will be allowed to launch from the Lick Fork Boat Launch the day of the tournament. Weigh in will be at Hoosier Hills Marina. You must return to the Lick Fork Boat Ramp and check in.
Saturday May 5, 2012 Ultimate Challenge Championship take off Positions – The top 25 teams from each day ( Black & Blue Championships) will be put into a hat and drawn for takeoff position the morning of the event. These 50 teams will represent first flight. The remaining teams 26-50 of each day and wild cards will go into a hat and be drawn out for second flight. The drawing will take place the morning of the event at the ramp.
Saturday May 5, 2012 Lunker Shootout - This event will be open to anglers who miss the Ultimate Challenge cut on Thursday or Friday. This event will also be taking out of the Lick Fork Boat Launch starting at 8:00 am with check in at 2:00 pm. Weigh in will be at Hoosier Hills Marina. Each team will be allowed to weigh in one fish; either a largemouth, Spotted or smallmouth bass. There will be prizes and plaques for top finishers. Entry fee will be $20. 00 and registration for this event will immediately follow the Black and Blue Championships.

Optional Pot - An optional side pot will be available for the Black & Blue National Championships. The optional pot entry fee is $40.00 and $10.00 for big bass per championship event.
Practice - There will be no official practice days. Remember there are NO boats allowed on the water before 8:00 am the days of the tournaments unless you’re a participant in that day’s championship. Also, you may not use the Lick Fork Boat Launch to launch your boat unless you are a participant in the championship that day.
OFF LIMITS – ALL MARINAS are off limits. You may not fish within 300 feet or 100 yards of any marina on Patoka Lake. Fishing within 100 yards of a marina may be terms for disqualification from the championship.
All boats must have a lake use sticker on their boat to fish Patoka Lake. This sticker cost $20 at the DNR office and can also be purchased at Hoosier Hills Marina for $22.
Rules - All NBAA rules will apply - Smallmouth, Largemouth and Spotted Bass must measure 15” in length. 5 fish limit per boat.
*In case of inclement weather NBAA holds the right to have a trailered take off and weigh in at an alternate weigh in location.
