Double Barrel Shootout on St Clair is even Bigger!

With almost 50 boats at this event The Double Barrel Shootout Series is really on a roll.

It was a beautiful day for fishing on St Clair last Saturday. The temperature was in the 80’s and the water temp in the 70’s with the winds coming out of the S/SW all day between 10 & 18 MPH it made for a great day of fishing. Many large sacks of smallmouth came to the scales with 34 of the teams bringing in a limit. The team that led the field was the team of Mark Modrak & Don McCulla with 20.67 pounds following in a close second was the team of Scott Emery & Joe Pappas with 20.19 pounds. And rounding out the top 3 was the team of Jim Clauser and John Robiadek with 18.34 pounds. Scott Emery & Joe Pappas also had big bass of the event with a 5.34 pound smallmouth. Also, congratulations to the team of Kenneth Bennett and James Garland - they we’re the lucky winners of the Minn Kota trolling motor giveaway.

We would also like to give special thanks to Joe DiGiovanni & Alex Esselink for helping out with the care of the fish and doing a great job. Also, a special thanks to Jeff Throop of RED DRAGON for grilling over 200 hot dogs for the anglers.

The next event for the Double Barrel Shootout on Lake St Clair will be July 29 at Harley Ensign. Paul and Barry hope you’ll be able to join them for another great day of fishing and don’t forget all of the special prizes and those delicious hot dogs!

Remember, there are several other big events happening over on Lake St Clair including the Sunday St Clair Series with Pete Lusis & Derek Holmes. Pete and Derek have a great event with lots of special prizes and giveaways. The Sunday St Clair series is sponsored by Rock Financial, Bass Pro Shops, Superior GMC in Brighton, Combat Fishing and Stopper Lures. Rock Financial will be sponsoring big bass of the year and the winner will receive a $250 check from Rock Financial. Besides the $250 from Rock the Big Bass of the year will also receive a 24 Karate Gold putter sponsored by Superior GMC in Brighton.
