Clauser & Robiadek – Win Detroit River Open!

With nearly 90 teams vying for the top spot and over $12000.00 in cash & prizes. This year’s Detroit River Open was sure to be a battle in the motor city. When the smoke cleared or more like the rain, the top prize and championship honors went to the team of James Clauser & John Robiadek. James & John weighed in a great bag of smallmouth’s that tipped the scales at nearly 22 lbs. This was enough to beat out their nearest competitors and second place finishers Roy Randolph & Mike Stein by over a pound. For their efforts in taking championship honors and second place big bass, James & John walked away with nearly $5300.00 and a beautiful set of plaques.

Rounding out the top 3 was the team of Don Fowler & Dave Brown with just over 20 lbs. Don & Dave also took third place big bass honors with a 5.15 smallmouth. Third place honors and big bass was worth nearly $1200.00 and plaques for the team of Fowler and Brown. The big bass honors of the day went to the team of Robert Ross & Steve Tarasakiewicz with a huge smallmouth tipping the scales at 5.45 pounds and was good for a plaque and $400.

We’d also like to thank all of the sponsors who made this possible including the Detroit River Days Festival. This is the third year that the Detroit River Open has ran in conjunction with the festival and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.
