Overtime Record Shattered!

When Division 15 & 17 decided to team up for one mega Overtime Challenge tournament they knew this was going to be a special. With 46 boats coming out to fish on Gull Lake and take part in this event, the two divisions had teamed up to hold the largest Overtime tournament ever in NBAA history. Anglers from both divisions were excited to be out and taking part in such a unique opportunity. The previous record was held by Division 60 out of Fenton with 40 boats.

Directors Shawn Green and Brian Clark pulled out all the stops for this event. With special raffles and prizes donated from what seemed like dozens of sponsors. Prizes and sponsors included a $25 Bass Pro Shops gift Card, Minn Kota trolling motor, Gamma Line, shirts and hats from Auto Value, Scent-Lok, Nitro, Mercury Marine, Papa Murphy's, Byholt Excavating, Mile's Painting, Miller-Schuring Insurance Agency, D&S Trophies, Michigan Specialty Tackle, Pizza Sams and many more. Plus, Shawn Green from D&S Trophies donated plaques for the top 3 places and big bass. All in all there was nearly 4 dozen prizes that were raffled off at this special event.

The winners of the tournament were Neal Vandebiezen and Andy Papierz with nearly 12 pounds. This team also capture the big bass of the tournament with a nice largemouth topping the scales at just over 4 ½ pounds. Second place went to the team of Mike Elkins and Carlos Vergara with 11.32 lbs and third place went to the Buddy Reynolds & Doug Huge with just under 11 lbs.
