Division 2 Wrap Up!

NBAA-Bass2010 was an unbelievable year for Division 2. Division 2 had a 90% increase in teams from last year with an avg of 19 teams. Once again the team of Rob Miller and Gary Sitzes took top honors with a total of 307 points beating out the competition of Don Laughton and Vern Barve by 34 points (273). Rounding out the top three was Bryon Case and Guy Houtz with 272 points. Big bass of the year went to Cory Tappenden with 5.88lbs. Our other 5lb plate winner was Doug Scott with 5.04lbs. Other awards handed out were largest and smallest sacks - total weight for the year. Smallest sack award went to the team of Jeff Hamilton and Jack Roberts with 7 fish weighing 10.14lbs. This was their first year fishing a tournament trail. So happy to have them with us. Largest sack of the year went to Rob Miller and Gary Sitzes with 35 fish weighing 63.48lbs.

This year had a lot of new teams either for just one event or fishing the whole season with us. Rob Miller Jr with newcomer Casey Stephens, Alfonzo (Fonzie) Aguirre and Cory Tappenden, Les Giberson and Randy Fitton, John Elkins and Chris Elkins, Matt and Andrew Norris, Jeff Hamilton and Jack Roberts, Jonathon VanDam and Stephen Gould, Jack and Allie Horning, Scott McDiarmid and Joe Adkins,Ted Braun, Ron Hotrum.

With over $2500 in cash and prizes handed out during the Championship night on Baw Bees Lake. First place went to - Steve Miller and Doug Scott, for the second year in a row, with 2 fish at 3.36lbs. Big junk fish went to Alfonzo Aguirre and Cory Tappenden with pike weighing in at 2.47lbs, and Big bass went to - Steve Miller at 2.04lbs. First place was to get a 3 bank charger, but felt it would be more fair to have a drawing for it since the directors won. The charger went to Alfonzo and Cory. We also had a 30lb thrust trolling motor that went to Brian and Ashley Baker. 17 out of 18 qualified teams were able to make the event and payouts went 8 deep. Great time was had by all.
