Altoona Iowa’s Bass Pro Shops have got a weapon with a one, two punch!
Local pro-staffers Kary Ray and Lance Baker are about to make some serious noise in the fishing industry.
Kary Ray has been a pro-staffer for Bass Pro Shops for the last couple years. When asked, what being part of the Altoona Bass Pro Shops pro-staff meant to him, without hesitation, he said, “Well that’s easy! It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to give back to the fishing community. I guess the best part is the interaction with the future fisherman, just helping them with the basics of fishing and watching their faces light up. That’s what it’s all about!”
On the same note Lance Baker, Altoona Bass Pro Shop’s new weapon, when asked the same question, he replied, ”I agree with Kary 100 percent. It’s all about passing on your knowledge of fishing to help others enjoy the great resources we have as outdoorsman here in Iowa and throughout the country.” Kary added, ”I’ve known Lance for a couple of years now and the one thing I’ve seen in him that most people don’t have is the drive and dedication it takes in this sport, not so much to be the best fisherman in the world, but to promote his sponsors and to introduce fishing to the new generation. He’s got that “IT” factor.”
Kary is sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Nitro Boats, Team Mallon Excavating and Hot Rod Baits. He has been active in the fishing industry in many ways including Casting Kids Events, Blogs, many Seminars at BPS, but prefers the hands on approach... Kary also does guiding on the Mississippi River. He adds with a smile, “It doesn’t get any more hands on than that!”
Lance sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Team Daiwa, Frabill, Venom Lures and Team Mallon Excavating represents the fishing industry in many different ways. Like Kary he is active in fishing tournaments but he is also the co-director of the NBAA sanctioned Iowa Premier Bass Series along with director and friend Scott Steinkritz. He is an active volunteer in the Make a Wish Foundation/Fishing for Wishes Charity. Lance also guides in Tennessee with his father for stripers and smallmouth bass, educating anglers across the United States on catching that once in a lifetime trophy fish.
Presently the Iowa duo are in the works to approach the fishing industry working together as a team, to strengthen each other’s ideas to show fishing in a way that will benefit all levels of anglers. With a one/two punch like this, Altoona’s Bass Pro Shop Team is surely going to be a fresh new approach to fishing. Not to mention the fishing industries voice just got a little stronger with their dedication and willingness to help other outdoorsman. They added they would like to thank Bass Pro Shops and their other sponsors for such a great opportunity. They are looking forward to a great year ahead!!
P.S. Don’t forget to Take A Kid Fishing and pass on the Tradition!!!!!!!!!
