NBAA/IPB Anglers Smoke ‘Em at Rathbun!!!
One word describes the results of the NBAA/Iowa Premier Bass Series at Lake Rathbun on Saturday May 21…”WOW”. While the world did not come to an end, the forces of Mother Nature did combine to create the perfect bass fishing storm. This was a day like no other. Multiple bags of huge fish were brought to the scale. The 35 boat field paid 7 places and if you didn’t have 19 pounds, you didn’t cash a check.
The stats for the tournament are unreal. 35 teams. 5 fish limit. 23 limits. 144 fish weighed in. 479 pounds of bass! Kevin and Zita Lovell topped the field with a 5 fish limit weighing 24.12 lbs. Dave Van Houten caught the Big Bass of the tournament. It weighed 7.62 lbs. There were 2 other fish brought in over 6 lbs!
Simply put, this was without a doubt the best collective bass fishing performance the state of Iowa has ever seen. NBAA/Iowa Premier Bass is where it’s at. We are seeing good turn outs, and great pay outs. The anglers are a great group of guys (and gals), and the Directors do a fantastic job.
Congrats to all who smoked ‘em at Rathbun!
