NBAA – Iowa Premier Bass Series Wrap Up!

The 2011 NBAA Iowa Premier Bass Series recently came to an end. The NBAA/IPB completed in their last event on the Mississippi River at Marquette, Iowa. For many of the anglers, this was their first trip to the river. Despite the lack of experience on this body of water, the anglers of the IPB figured it out in a hurry. During this special two day event, each day the competitors of the NBAA/IPB brought in over 20 limits. The team that topped them all was the team of Al & Jeremy Thayer. Al and Jeremy were amongst the teams who were on the river for the first time. They were able to put together 2 days worth of 3+ pounders for a total of 33.32 pounds and big bass of 4.5 pounds. The 2nd place team of Mike Van Houten and Cory Fisher came in with 29.55 pounds. And rounding out the top 3 was the team of David Boruff and Dan Keene with 28 ½ lbs.
2011 was another great season for the NBAA/IPB division. Directors Scott Steinkritz and Lance Baker would like to congratulate and thank all of the anglers who participated in the IPB in 2011. They’d also like to thank all of their sponsors including – Polk City Bait & Tackle, Ralph Stonehocker Real Estate, ABT Graphics, Brightwells Boathouse, K&L Trenching, Russ Licktieg, Shirt Works, General Insurance, J&M Baits, and First Class Credit Union. Also, special congratulations goes out to the team of Tony Johnson and Ryan Truesdale, the 2011 points champions. This is a major accomplishment in Iowa bass fishing. The NBAA/IPB is one of the largest divisions in NBAA and in the entire state of Iowa. This great division is filled top to bottom with some of the best anglers in Iowa. This is truly an awesome accomplishment for Tony and Ryan.
