NBAA-Bass Bass Fishing Championship - Kentucky Boat NumbersKentucky Boat Numbers are Set!

More Championship Information!

Championship Week 2008 is just over a month away and the excitement is starting to brew, starting with this year’s boat draw. Just like in past years point champions get the early draws, followed by qualifiers and last but not least wildcards. Congratulations to the team of Jason Keller and Steve Zimmerman. Jason and Steve will take off first in this year’s 2008 Weekend Challenge Championship. The next day, the team of Andrew Lynch & David Boedeker will be the first boat out in the 2008 Overtime Championship. Again, congratulations to both teams and to all the qualifiers of this year’s big event.

For the complete listing of boat draw numbers and to see where your taking off at this year’s championship, please check out the boat numbers list at the bottom of this write up. If you have any questions on the listing please contact Jack Horning at jackhorning@sbcglobal.net and he’ll be happy to help you out.

If you’d like to take a look at a map of the pools you can go to http://www.lrl.usace.army.mil/optm/default.asp?mycategory=41 and look up the pools you’d like to fish.

A Kentucky or Indiana fishing license will be necessary to fish the main stem of the river. The Department of Fish & Wildlife will not give you a ticket for fishing the main stem of the river with either license. However, if you do decide to enter into any tributaries or cuts on either side of the river you’ll also need that specific license. What this means if you fish the Kentucky side of the river and go into any cuts you need to make sure you have a Kentucky fishing license and the same for the Indiana side. For a Kentucky or Indiana fishing license on line you can go to www.in.gov/dnr/boating or http://fw.ky.gov/waterbody.aspx

While fishing the river you and your partner may decide to try to lock through. If you do decide to do this below are some helpful tips and information to make this as easy as possible.

Remember, championship week 2008 is just a few short weeks away. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Jack Horning at jackhorning@sbcglobal.net.
