NBAA Motor City Inland 2011
This was one of the most enjoyable seasons George Terrien has had in his seven years as a director with the NBAA. George and co-director Mike Nowaczewski have had some fantastic fishing and met several great new anglers throughout the year. The Motor City Opener on Lobdell brought another great turnout as did all of the Motor City Inland tournaments this season. The Motor City Inland Challenge averaged nearly 29 boats per event. This is a testament to the quality of anglers that the Motor City Inland has that show up on a consistent basis. George and Mike stake claim that the Motor City Inland division has the best anglers around, both in skill and character. They make running this division a pleasure every weekend, commented George.
Speaking of these fine anglers, we had some interesting surprises this season. The regulars showed up at the top of the weigh-in picture as expected; Brian Ward (3 top 5’s and 1 win), Andrew Solomon (4 top 5’s and 1 win), Jim Baker (2 top 5’s), Mark Semple (2 top 5’s), the Willbur’s (2 top 5’s) and Jamroz & Debono had a win on Orion. But this new team to our area from Bay City, Keith Ramseyer and Tyler Jaskiewsicz, brought another viable team to our circuit. They drove down on average 3 hours to fish our tournaments and finished with 3 top 5’s and a huge 19.2lb bag to win on Orion. But when all was said and done, it came down to Pontiac Lake where Andrew Solomon and Ken Hockenberry, who were down 5 pts going into the event, came in with a 14.99lb bag; giving Andrew his second consecutive POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP in the Motor City Inland Division by two points over Keith and Tyler. Congratulations to Andrew on a great year!!!
In closing, this division cannot be as successful as it is without mentioning those behind the scene that help make the mornings run smooth and the weigh-ins quick and flawless. Director George Terrien would like to give a big Thank You to his co-director Mike Nowaczewski and his second co-directors Greg Kiester and Vic Cerebone for the sacrifices and commitment to give our anglers a great experience on Saturday’s. Thanks to Jim Zelagin of Wacky Boy Baits and Brian Newton of Trinity Tackle for providing tackle packs throughout the season. You need to check out their tackle. It is quality plastics and jigs. Lastly, THANK YOU to all the anglers’ who chose to spend their hard earned money and Saturday’s with the Motor City clan. We appreciate it and hope to see you all next season.
Sincerely,
George Terrien
Director
