WCSR & NBAA SLM!
The second event for the Southern Lower Michigan (SLM) Division went off without a hitch. With the fog and a misty morning, it was not match for the 39 anglers who participated at Baw Beese Lake in Hillsdale, Michigan. Baw Beese Lake is notorious for a tough bite, as many vetern aglers would atest to. However, on June 11th, it was proven to be a very productive lake with 12 teams catching a limit. All the anglers who have fished this lake made comment about the excellent fishing, they attribute this to the timing of the event. Most teams who had their limit told the directors they were ready to weigh in by 10 am. The bite was awesome around the first part of the morning, then the fog lifted. The big bite was now limited.
Radio Station WCSR was on hand and did an awesome job at the weigh in. They were live updates as the anglers brought in their sack of fish to the scales.
Also on hand was Boy Scout Troop 247 selling hot dogs, pop and chips. The best deal was 2 dogs, a pop and chips for $3. They also had a raffle for a hand made bench that went to Robert Miller. All the anglers participated in helping the scouts out with the food and the raffle. They were able to make nearly $200 from the event. Steve and Doug hope to see them at a future events.
