AAIP offers more Advantages for the Weekend Angler!
The Anglers Advantage Insurance Program (AAIP) announces new coverage options for angler’s boats. The Anglers Advantage GOLD Policy is on the cutting edge of watercraft insurance and if you own any type of watercraft you owe it to yourself to check out what AAIP can do for you!
New options include:
Total Replacement Cost Coverage is now available for boats that are of the current model year or preceding model year. This coverage, to the fullest extent possible, provides you the option of replacing the covered watercraft and its attached equipment, its outboard motor(s), and trailer with a brand new watercraft, outboard motor, and trailer that is the same make, class, size, type and horsepower and which contains comparable equipment should they be a “total loss” or “constructive total loss” during the policy term.
A Disappearing Deductible Coverage option endorsement which automatically reduces your Physical Damage Watercraft and Equipment Deductible by 25% for each consecutive “claims-free” renewal period under your policy is now available. So, if you have no losses under any section of the Anglers Advantage Gold Policy over a (4) year time frame, you will have a “zero deductible” upon its renewal the fifth year! The other option is a 10% Claims Free Discount which will be applied to your annual premium at each renewal if you have incurred no claims within the (12) months prior to your renewal date. (This is not, however, a cumulative credit for consecutive loss-free years.)
Watercraft Custom Wrap Endorsement is now available to cover physical loss or damage coverage to the watercraft’s custom wrap if the cost of the wrap is included in the boat and equipment limit at a nominal additional premium charge.
In the Anglers Advantage Insurance Program (A.A.I.P.) the policies that do not have the Total Replacement Cost Coverage still have the “agreed value” valuation clause in the policy. In the event of a total loss, your claim payment would be whatever the “agreed value” is on the declaration page, subject to any applicable deductible.
Other advantages of the A.A.I.P. include:
There is no cap put on the number of tournaments you can fish under Anglers Advantage. Some policies limit the angler to only 6 or so tournaments a year. A lot of anglers fish that many tournaments in the first couple of months of the season!
The A.A.I.P. has a standard limit of $500 for emergency service and towing coverage at no additional premium. Other companies want to sell you a separate membership package for this alone with a lower limit!
Personal Effects limits of up to $10,000 are available. The “standard” Personal Effects Coverage limit for individuals is $2,000 and for pros and guides is $2,500.
Fishing Tournament Fee Reimbursement Coverage is an optional coverage offered by A.A.I.P. This coverage reimburses the angler for any prepaid out-of-pocket fishing tournament entry fees if the angler cannot participate in an upcoming tournament. This optional coverage is subject to an annual limit of $1,000 for a nominal additional premium. Cancellation of the upcoming tournament must be due to either a covered loss under the policy to the watercraft, primary outboard motor, and/or trailer rendering it inoperable, or it still must be in the process of being repaired from the covered loss; or, a death in the Insured’s immediate family, or of the Insured.
Another optional coverage package available is the Advantage Plus Endorsement. This endorsement includes Rental Reimbursement Coverage for rental of a similar size and type of watercraft while your insured watercraft is in the shop for repair of a covered loss. A Waiver of Scheduling Personal Effects over $500 per item is included. Additional Repair Coverage for faulty workmanship or undetected damage that is discovered after an original repair from a covered loss is part of this endorsement, as long as you stay continuously insured with Anglers Advantage. And for our coastal area friends, the Advantage Plus includes Hurricane Haul-Out Protection for $500 of coverage per hurricane, subject to a maximum annual limit of $1,000.
Old United Casualty Company, the carrier for A.A.I.P., does not run credit scores when you apply for insurance. A lot of other insurance companies do, and these inquiries could show up on your credit score also. [Old United is an “A” rated (Excellent) carrier by A.M. Best Company (an independent insurance rating firm) so there is nothing to worry about in regards to the program’s financial stability.]
And of course, Anglers Advantage is a sponsor of the NBAA. Being a National Bass Anglers Association member also entitles you to an additional 10% discount on insurance.
